Major new tenant for Brisbane Airport’s Export Park

Sime Darby Motors Australia is moving into the newest 9,450sqm warehouse and distribution facility at Brisbane Airport’s thriving Export Park.

Martin Ryan, Brisbane Airport Corporation’s executive general manager for commercial, noted: “Our attraction of this global business demonstrates our unrivalled offering for industrial companies, with unparalleled transport connections and access to 24/7 operations.

“With Brisbane industrial vacancies at a six-year low, BAC is pleased to be in a position to be proactively developing first-class facilities in our prime location.”

The new Export Park facility includes a 9,450sqm warehouse facility, 550sqm of offices, 104 on-site car parks as well as eight on-grade roller shutters on a dual street frontage.

It includes provision for solar energy and electric vehicle charging, and was constructed using energy and heat-efficient materials, in line with BAC’s commitment to sustainability.

Sime Darby Motors Group Retail Australia managing director, Matthew Wiesner, said the company, which is one of Australia’s leading automotive groups, was pleased to secure the sizeable new facility at a time of high demand.

“We look forward to expanding our Brisbane footprint with this significant new premises at Brisbane Airport,’’ he commented.

Almost 150 jobs were created in the construction phase of this development.

The Brisbane Airport precinct is highly regarded and sought-after for industrial tenants, with the ability to operate 24/7 and unparalleled road, sea and air transport connections.

BAC is responsible for the sustainable development of Brisbane Airport’s entire 2700-hectare lease holding and manages the $2 billion property portfolio.
