Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) welcomed 624,207 passengers in January – a healthy 8.2% upturn on the corresponding month a year ago.
Jordan’s gateway to the world also handled 8,074 tons of cargo (+14.8%) and 5,672 aircraft movements (-2.5%) during the month.
“We are delighted to kick off the year by welcoming more than 620,000 passengers, the highest number of January passengers in QAIA’s 35-year long history,” enthused Kjeld Binger, CEO of airport operator, Airport International Group (AIG).
“Our aim is for 2018 to be yet another successful year to add to our repertoire, as we implement strategies that will improve our services and bolster our operations so that we may continue to maintain QAIA’s standing as Jordan’s prime gateway to the world.”
