The highly-prized accolade was won by GVK-led MIAL for its commitment towards instilling practices that assure a secure and healthy environment for all its stakeholders.
In order to compete for the honour, an organisation has to attain the maximum five-stars rating in the British Safety Council’s Health and Safety Management audit for a defined period.
Thereafter, the company is evaluated by an independent panel of experts on the performance of the health & safety systems that are implemented across the organisation, an appraisal that necessitates display of excellence.
MIAL says: "This honour is a testament of our unflinching commitment towards operating with an approach that promises efficiency, safety and reliability.
"The Sword of Honour acknowledges the company’s endeavour towards offering a world-class environment to all its stakeholders."
In the ‘Five Star Occupational Health and Safety’ Audit conducted recently by the British Safety Council (BSC), MIAL was graded with a five-star rating, one of the most stringent Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Management System Audits.
